I was so blessed to join area fashionistas at the opening night of Fashion Week El Paseo over the weekend. Saturday’s festivities kicked off the 10th anniversary of the event here in Palm Desert. I have to say, from the moment we walked across the red carpet, sequins, lace, sparkle and glamour where everywhere. I chose my polka dot sequined top and multi-strand pearl necklace, both from J.Crew, and a fun and flouncy Red Valentino skirt for the occasion.
Tom and I got to share the evening with Dad, Medora and little sis Lily, and that made the event even more special!
After a lively and fun cocktail hour, over 80 looks from eight designers walked down the runway inside the big white tent. Trina Turk started the show off with her spring collection featuring bright floral prints and patterns. Can I just say I LOVED EVERYTHING! Luckily for me, she has a boutique right down the road in downtown Palm Springs.
The second designer featured in the evening was Kevan Hall, who was actually the premier designer at the first-ever Fashion Week El Paseo. He was followed by Eduardo Lucero, Lloyd Klein, Oliver Tolentino, Gilbert Chagoury, Candice Held, and Anthony Franco.
My favorite part of the evening besides watching the amazing styles walking down the runway? Tom and I ran into at least 10-12 people we know. That is a first since moving to the desert over a year! The first person I ran into was another blogger, Wendy from Fashion Over Fifty. I met Wendy at a blogger dinner in LA back in October. Check out her blog!
