Happy Thanksgiving, my dear friends and family! I pray you have a day filled with love, laughter, blessing and thankfulness!
Yesterday, my sister-in-law Lorri send my family several scriptures to remind us of what God says about thankfulness. She suggested cutting them out and having different people at the Thanksgiving table read the verses. I LOVE that idea! And I thought that you might too! (Click here for the printable version)
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Colossians 3:12-15
Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:19-20
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Colossians 2: 6-7
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire. Hebrews 12:28-29
Such wonderful reminders from our Lord on this day. His Word is true. His promises are real. We have much for which to give thanks!
