The sweetest bridal shower ever!
I was so blessed to co-host a bridal shower for my dear friend Tawnya’s future daughter in law. Terra Taylor will be marrying Taylor Quiet just three weeks before my son Trevor marries his fiance, Rachel! This couple is so, so precious… absolutely perfect for each other! We definitely showered Terra with love. And I’m excited to share all the creative, yummy details with you!
The bridal shower was held at the incredibly darling home of my dear friend Jill. Much credit for the creativity of the shower goes to Jill! Like this cute banner hanging from the chandelier. To create this, Jill disassembled a pre-made vertical banner from Target, restrung it horizontally and added the letters.
Then there is this chalkboard sign that welcomed the guests. Jill did all the lettering. I only WISH I could freehand something like this! Oh, and don’t you just love the wedding hashtags? So cute and appropriate! The chalkboard belongs to Tawnya, and I’ve been coveting it for years. I found this one on Amazon. Its frame doesn’t have the same ornate character as Tawnya’s, but I think it could be cute to use at events and celebrations. And here’s a more rustic one.
I purchased the shower invitations from digibuddhaPaperie on Etsy. I’m a designer, but sometimes life is too crazy to be original. Isn’t it awesome that these days we can tap into and purchase the creative work of others that is then personalized however we want? Wish Etsy, Minted and others were around when I got married!
There was lots of yumminess to eat and drink. A mimosa bar was set up outside with options for orange, grapefruit or pomegranate juice and fresh fruit garnishes.
In addition to fruit kabobs and pimento cheese and chicken salad sandwiches, we served several tasty desserts. These mini cupcakes were made by my creative daughter in law, Shandi. The vanilla cupcakes had small pink pearls on them, and the chocolate cupcakes (my fave!) were topped with chocolate chips. They were definitely a hit!
Tawnya’s sister brought these precious monogrammed cookies for the bridal shower from Sugar and Spice Bakery in Plano, Texas.
Jill made these decadent brownie parfaits. They tasted as good as they looked!
The little touches were hard to miss throughout this adorable bridal shower. Like this vintage silver cake stand the housed the brownie parfaits, and the gold and white straws adorning the flower arrangements.
I adore this lighted Q from Michael’s. Jill’s daughter Mary Claire added the glittery edge. Isn’t it cute?
These succulent party favors were so precious! I love the variety of shapes and shades of green, as well as the brown paper wrapped around them. This is a really simple and adorable party favor to make. You can find the little succulents here.
After we had consumed multiple mimosas and desserts, it was present time! This one got lots of laughs and a blush from sweet Terra. It’s a reversible pillow. One side says “Tonight.” The other side says “NOT Tonight.” For all you gals who think this pillow might come in handy, I found a similar one here!
Jill’s lovely home was the perfect place for this bridal shower. Everyone who attended was “oohing and aahing” over her decor! Like her mantle and china cabinet.
Hands down, the sweetest moment of the afternoon was when we gathered in a circle to pray for the bride to be. I don’t think there were many dry eyes in the room as we lifted our prayers for Terra and Taylor up to the Lord.
I love this season of life. I can’t believe my friends and I are at the age where we get to shower our boys’ brides. So sweet. So joy-filled. So memorable. The next bridal shower will be for my future daughter in law, Rachel. I can hardly wait!
