Welcome to Tabler Party of Two! This is Tom and me dancing to our favorite Texas band, Two Tons of Steel, at Gruene Hall (yes, we are sweating profusely… no AC in the oldest dance hall in Texas!) The date was August 16, 2011. We had officially become empty nesters two hours earlier, and we decided to have fun and celebrate!
Now we are three years down the road, and we are still celebrating, still having fun. We are happy and content. Don’t get me wrong… we are overjoyed when our kids come home for a visit. But we are just as content when they are gone again.
It comes down to a simple choice every couple has the opportunity to make when the kids fly away from the nest. Are they going to consciously pursue activities that bring them closer together, rekindle the fire and help them rediscover that they are best friends? That’s the decision we made. I’ve seen the alternative, and it doesn’t look very appealing!
Tabler Party of Two was born out of my desire to encourage women of all walks of life to embrace and savor each season. I’ll be sharing our adventures and also my passions… like recipes, faith, style, beauty, DIY projects, decorating, travel, and more. Thanks for stopping by today… hope you’ll join us on our journey!
xoxo

Jenny, thank you so much for stopping by! Thanks for the encouragement!
So cute sis! I will be visiting often so it feels like we’re doing life together! I love my season, though sometimes jealous of yours (ha ha) and I seek the Lord continually to see what adventure He wants me to take next! Praying for you and can’t wait to visit:) I love you tons (Two tons of steel)!
Lorri, thank you for visiting my blog! I look forward to hearing about your adventures, too!
Andrea, I have been exploring your site today, and I must say, I feel as though I have found a kindred spirit. 🙂 It also looks like we both started our blogging adventure for the similar reasons. Your site is beautiful and well done — makes me realize how badly I need to update parts of mine! 🙂 That is one of my huge summer goals! I just followed you all over social media (literally!) and look forward to sharing parts of this season with you.
